Next stop was Griesbroek. About restoration of hydrology and natural processes in a heavily influenced area. They went from a highly anthropogenic situation with illegal villages and ponds to nature restored peatland.

Another decade(ish) old dam up on Cray Moss doing its thing. Certainly the amount of water it’s holding is a facet of weather but there’s so much sediment trapped and so much vegetation growing behind it (right hand side is “upstream”).
