As part of #ROOFTOPEU2022 , EU Commissioner for Social Rights Nicolas SCHMIT brought a field visit to Nieuw Gent. Focus of the visit was the importance of mobile mental health workers and the way Ghent tries to avoid homelessness by ensuring a dense neighbourhood network.

We should probably stop saying #homelessness is a complex problem. It is too often used as reason to justify lack of/no action. Lets focus on the solutions in stead. They are simple : housing ➕ support - in different forms.
