Visited Sligachan SSSI today. The bog pools are teaming with various invertebrates and loads of bog bean on the verge of bursting into flower. Also saw lots of sphagnum moss, bog myrtle and common lousewort.

The heat is incredible in Pune. I’d taken these cuttings for a friend, nicely moisturised with damp sphagnum like I’d done many times before. They spent a couple of hours in a locked car out of direct sunlight but are now on life support. I really hope they’ll pull through!🤞🏽

All done and settled for an hour soak. The medium (soil) is mostly bark, lava rock, sponge rock and sphagnum moss.

This is their weekly watering routine. Soak in filtered room temp water for about an hour, drain and leave alone. Though i do need to dust the leaves 🤷‍♀️🥰

Wetland plants: ferns, cattails, reeds, joe-pye weed, blueberries, sundews, pitcher plants, sphagnum moss and purple loosestrife (invasive). Scrubby wetlands plants: cardinal flowers, skunk cabbage, marsh marigold, buttonbush, winterberry, meadowsweet, swamp rose, mountain holly.
