Now the test closure is complete (see yesterday’s tweet) some of the gates are in their reverse maintenance position. The gates are hollow so can be inspected inside when out of the water. And as a bonus some of the Dunkirk small boats chugged through today!

70 years ago, on this night in 1953, a devasting storm tide hit our eastern coastline, taking numerous lives & causing huge damage to homes, farms & industry. In response, seawalls & huge defences like the now line the , providing protection, for now.
