Just wrapped commemorating the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. A Navy flyover occured at 9:08 am to mark the exact moment the official surrender was signed and taps was played to remember all those who died in service to our nation during the war. #vjday75

75 years ago today, King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, Princess Elizabeth (now The Queen) and Princess Margaret attended 'A Service of Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the Victory granted to Britain and her Allies' at St Paul's Cathedral.

On Saturday, 100 year old WW2 Veteran, Mr John Jude, was re-presented with his lost medals by Commodore Elford & the Mayor of Cambridge. He was also given a personal letter from 1SL & his Veterans Badge. Cpl Streeter & Bugler Lynch also performed for the commemoration of #VJDay75

When the final surrender documents were signed in Tokyo Bay on 2 September, U.S. Army units were spread out across the Pacific Theater. A few were already in Japan for occupation duty.
