So, #abpse gets a 0.6% increase, while #abbudget puts inflation + population growth for 2022 at 8.7%, so it's really a cut. This government is downloading costs onto students: in 2018-19 own-source (again, ie. tuition) accounted for 43% of total spending, by 2025-26 it'll be 55%.

Imagine being an #abpse student who will face years of tuition increases, or one of the hundreds of laid off staff, or one of the overworked faculty who all have to watch university 'leadership' fawning over the #abbudget instead of condemning the UCP.

At first glance, the #abbudget for #abpse sees a small $4 million increase this year, but that doesn't take into account inflation of 4.8% plus population growth, so it's really a cut. Also projected cut of $57 million in 2023-24.

A reminder that when the #abbudget says it's 'providing $5.6 B in operating expense' for #abpse , that includes own-source revenues (like tuition). 2022-23 PSE funding is forecast at $2.431B and will increase by a whopping $15M to $2.446B. For context, it was $2.87B in 2018-19.
