I’m very excited, and equally nervous, to be presenting at the #britsoc23 on Thursday in Paper Session 4 (11:00-12:30). I’ll be presenting early research findings from my PhD, focusing on women’s experiences of single positivity in a postfeminist culture.
I presented my research today at the BSA Annual Conference, exploring how Muslim, Jewish, and Christian vegans in the UK are tackling ethical crises through veganism.

Arrived for #britsoc23 … on Friday’s plenary will be talking about this, BLM, and the Zapatistas, among other things to think about what sociological theorising actually entails. What crisis of social theory ..?
Today's #britsoc23 keynote by Dr Finn Mackay Adult Human Feline🏴 was truly a masterclass in engaged, passionate scholarly communication. Such an excellent lecture. I'll be watching this one back again when it goes live on the website.
Clichéd Manchester weather aside, a great time was had at #britsoc23 meeting old and new friends, while managing to sneak off to chair an excellent debate on climate action for Festival of Debate. Now for a lie down.
Up next in #britsoc23 ! Join us to talk about Mpox, communities, exclusions and activism in room 1218

Ended up not getting to present, so devastated 😭This was my first in person talk&first time attending BSA. Original slot, just the 2 of us speakers, no chair,no attendees. Moved into the following slot with then one too many speakers/not enough time. £90&6hrs travel😭 #britsoc23
