What a moment :raised_hands: This morning, the Chinese Canadian Museum hosted its official opening ceremony in #chinatownyvr ! We are grateful for all the honoured guests who joined our celebration. We can't wait to welcome everyone beginning on July 1, 2023.
TY to VanPolicePipeBand for leading off today’s parade in #ChinatownYVR . More importantly, thank you for learning how to play an old Chinese folk song on the pipes & drums. I know many seniors and spectators along the parade route were very appreciative. #Respect #Gratitude #Community
Amazing day & huge turnout for the official opening of the Chinese Canadian Museum in #Chinatown ! Great community #leadership to make this possible #ChineseCanadianMuseum #Chinatown YVR #LionDanceTeam Vancouver Police
Today I took some time to celebrate the #YearOfTheRabbit by taking part in the #ChinatownYVR parade. It was wonderful see so many people out in the community including Kevin Falcon Karin Kirkpatrick 🇨🇦 Peter Milobar Shirley Bond 🇺🇦 Trevor Halford Michael Lee #bcpoli #GongXiFaCai
The excitement is palpable for the return of the #LunarNewYear parade. Come down on Sunday Jan 22 & enjoy 70+parade teams, 3K participants, lion dance teams & bands to celebrate #YearOfTheRabbit . Great way to show #chinatownyvr some love ❤️ & support.
Empty barred storefronts, graffiti, broken windows, lease signs. Razor wire (smart). Zombified people clutching crackpipes.
You know things are bad when even Dollar Tree closes.
This is directly related to decriminalization.

Really outraged & disappointed at how exclusionary the #ChinatownYVR Spring Festival Parade is turning out to be this year. Looks very unfair and prejudicial against community members who have inspired so many of us with their intergenerational creativity
More than 350 descendants of Yip Sang gathered for the Yip Family Reunion this past weekend in #Chinatownyvr . Now in the 7th generation, members of the Yip family were given guided tours of the Wing Sang Building, the original home of their family, now #ChineseCanadianMuseum .
Two people who have done so much, in particular over the past few years to address anti-Asian hate & growing issues in #ChinatownYVR . Things are improving because of their tireless work and many other community leaders, like Carol Lee, who was also recognized on Vancouver’s Power

Note that the #ChinatownYVR LNY parade committee uses 1 of Ken Sim’s favourite words—safety—as a reason for revoking the parade participation of 2 vital intergenerational groups striving for an inclusive Chinatown. Does the cmtte think the groups’ elders are a threat to safety?
Thank you #ChinatownYVR Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden Dragon Boat BC 龍舟會 for hosting myself and my colleagues to celebrate Lunar New Year 🧧 🐇
Wonderful to celebrate Mid-Autumn Moon Festival at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden on this beautiful, clear evening in Vancouver's Chinatown. Check out the Festival Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, 'A Circus of Dreams' on until 11pm tomorrow night.🏮 #ChinatownYVR
What an amazing 50th anniversary Spring Festival Parade today in #ChinatownYVR !
So wonderful to see all the traditions and celebrations continue on the streets of Chinatown bringing together our community with so many families, children and seniors having fun and enjoying all
it's maddening that 2 intergenerational #ChinatownYVR groups are being denied positions in the Lunar New Year parade by Chinatown orgs that are more concerned w/ business interests! if the parade is abt 'fostering a sense of community, unity'? why can't they march in the parade?
Today marks the 50th anniversary of the #LunarNewYear parade in #ChinatownYVR . It was an amazing turnout and what a great way to welcome the year of the dragon! 🐲
