I’m often critical of Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), but that doesn’t mean I won’t give credit when it’s been earned.

Restoring the promised frequencies on the First Coast Flyer is the right thing to do, and fundamental to making transit more usable in Jacksonville. Doing what works matters.

A dedicated education reporter is needed more than ever in Jax and it's making me miss Emily Bloch a ton. It looks like Steve Patterson took over at the T-U, but is there anyone else that everyone should be tuning into?

Great column from CM ⁦Jimmy Peluso⁩ on how we got to the proposed school closures today, & how we could rein in some of the unfettered charter spending that is contributing to our public school funding deficit. jaxtoday.org/2024/04/24/opi…

Wait wait wait… so they aren’t autonomous?!? It’s still ok to have a rail line!?

But isn’t autonomous the “future?”

I’m incredibly grateful & proud of the men & women who stood together during our press conference yesterday. CMs Rahman Johnson, Ph.D., Gaffney, Clark-Murray, Carlucci & Pittman (in spirit) stood with our faith leaders to show we will not stand by while hate is spreading.

Who do I contact to find out the timeline for the Ed Austin playground? It's been over 2 months since the new equipment was delivered and the playground was closed and locked but they haven't even started working on it. We could have been using it all this time.

Isn’t this city considering closing a bunch of schools?

Haven’t they already shuttered tons of public services?

Seems like those would be much more worthwhile investments than another billionaire handout on the backs of tax payers.

Wow, this post about a major transit project to venues that host thousands says flexibility so much! If it's this flexible, it must be pretty cheap!

All for the low, low price of… sixty-six million?! For a dozen Ford vans?

It was great seeing neighbors coming out last night at Council to speak in favor of Sun-Ray Cinema & concerns about the future of one of our most special places. Elected leaders need to see what’s happening in our community so thank you jaxdailyrecord.com/news/2024/apr/…

Thank you to Jacksonville Today for publishing my Op-Ed on school closures and how we got here. Our traditional schools at DCPS are worth saving, so let’s fight for them.

I’d argue that until city digs out from under legacy costs and obligations that choice is made for the political class. The last election was about who didn’t try to sell JEA. The previous mayor complained about Alvin for years. is a creatively bankrupt flashback sitcom.

Thanks for posting, Hanna Holthaus! This took a lot of work by community leaders like Anthony Brown to get this work moving along! We will be able to determine what the neighborhood wants to do with publicly owned land, develop CIP projects, & help uplift residents!

Strong but important words from Jimmy Peluso in Jacksonville Today: “Charters aren’t a solution, they are a virus.” Read the full article here: jaxtoday.org/2024/04/24/opi…
