Greetings to our Marathi brothers & sisters across the world on Marathi language day. Today, we not only celebrate the incredible works of Kusumagraj but also swell with pride at the essence Marathi language brings to our plural culture.

Remembering Ninad Bedekar on his Punyatithi🙏🏻 This is a video of him reciting the poem ‘Nirdhar’ by Kusumagraj during one of his speeches.

The first show of iconic Marathi play ‘Natsamrat’ was staged 50 years on 23 December 1970 in Mumbai.

Written by ‘Kusumagraj’ VV Shirwadkar and Shreeram Lagoo portrayed the title role.

Today, we honour Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, famously known as Kusumagraj, an eminent author, playwright, poet and novelist who inspired a generation into the Indian freedom movement. In a career spanning five decades, this humanist won the Jnanpith award among many other laurels.

An eminent poet & writer who inspired a generation into the freedom movement in a career spanning five decades, Shri Shirwadkar, famously known as Kusumagraj, not only upheld the values of justice & equality through his writings but was also the beacon of Marathi literature.

On his birth anniversary, we celebrate the life & contributions of Vishnu V. Shirwadkar, popularly known as 'Kusumagraj,' a freedom fighter & an eminent Marathi writer.

We also extend our greetings for Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Diwas to the people of Maharashtra.

He translated great Marathi poet Kusumagraj in Urdu,gave me opportunity to be a small part of the process.while conveying meaning of a Marathi poem in Hindi ,I will fall short of words,start using gestures.He is imitating that in 2nd pic,looking at the book written by me in 3rd.

The valour of Prataprao Gujar and 6 other Maratha soldiers is best described in this poem by the great marathi poet Kusumagraj (वि. वा. शिरवाडकर).
