A brisk north wind and lovely light here in Shetland today. This was the scene looking north east from Leebitton across Mousa Sound to Noss.

One of four Glaucous Gulls at Leebitton, Shetland today. Also four 'Glaucs' at Spiggie, one at Scalloway and one at Grutness. Not a bad day!

Our Autumn birding group enjoyed great views of two Common Rosefinches at Leebitton, Sandwick this morning. Here's one of them.

This young Otter joined me on the pier at Leebitton this afternoon, perhaps looking for its parents. Better still, you can listen to it here: xeno-canto.org/775457 Nature in Shetland

The early hours of Sunday on Mousa. Masses of Storm Petrels returned to the broch and boulder beaches in the foggy conditions. western-isles-wildlife.co.uk/shetland_tour.… The journey back across to Leebitton and on to the hotel was also exciting in the poor visibility!
