Hey all! There was a paper a while ago that's focus was to predict microbial niche--think it was whether the microbe was from the epi- or mesopelagic zone--using microbial genomes.

Anyone know what paper i'm referring to? I can't find it and starting to think I made it up.

Blue whiting (Micromesistius poutassou) is currently the most fished #mesopelagic fish species in the Northeast Atlantic. It is characterized by a long, slender body, and a black mouth cavity. 🐟
