For no good reason, a lovely aerial photo of the monitor HMS Raglan (1915) showing how odd yet simple this class of ship looked, and showing off her pair of 14in guns. She was sunk in 1918.

This morning we took CMB4R out on sea trials, getting her up to 39.2 knots! This is faster than any recorded speed for 40ft CMB’s in history!🥳

14th March 1943. The submarine HMS Thunderbolt was lost with all hands off Sicily, sunk by an Italian corvette. Commissioned as HMS Thetis, she had flooded during diving trials in June 1939. 99 men were killed, but the boat was salvaged, refitted and renamed.

1743: A desperate battle off Gibraltar involved a small becalmed British warship & two oared Spanish xebecs. HMS Pulteney made use of her own “sweeps” for mobility during this unusual action. Click: bit.ly/3oRUUFz

Our CMB4R is making a splash or two wherever she goes! Afloat or ashore she is jaw-dropping, even if we do say so ourselves!😍

Watch this space for further updates on CMB4R👀

Receptionist thought I was lost and deranged when I stopped to take a photo in the lobby on a work errand. Was Too complicated to explain why this is interesting…

Calling any Royal Naval Experts. Can anyone identify the man on the right in the photo whose face we can see, taken in 1951 at HMS Heron? Thank you!
