How NOT to park in bike lanes (ft. telecom van)

This is honestly how ya do it: straddle curbs! But also be careful when opening your doors so as to not door cyclists.

+ !!

i’ve come to expect my body to tense up from loud 🚘noises— horns, engines revving, 🛞squealing. it scares me + brings anxiety. family say i’m “too sensitive” or “being dramatic”

am i? do u feel this? or r they too disconnected
from the streets?

#bikeden + #pedestriandignity !!

Curious why the parking lot at S. Anchorage Lowes is divided by loose boulders. Not only does it seem hostile to walk across but a liability for personal injury.

📍14th Street, Omaha, NE
between Jackson and Leavenworth Streets

Here it is at night. only one street light for this block. The west side of this block also has a painted pedestrian path. Let's do better Omaha.

We KNOW it. We SEE it every TIME we’re moving on our PUBLIC streets, people walking, rolling & taking the 🚌.

“Lots of work to do,” still. We’ll be here, fighting for & de-centering the 🚗 from our transportation decisions & infrastructure.

📍 Leavenworth St at Saddle Creek Rd, Omaha, NE

I drove across this intersection from each direction. The video is linked below, it's a 360° video so you can control the view. (appx 6 min)

Construction planning needs to prioritize needs of those that don't drive a car, no matter the reason. From a pedestrian's perspective, this is sloppy.

Unfortunately as much as we report issues to the mayor's hotline, many issues don't get addressed in a timely manner.

This blocked accessible parking spot was reported last week, then the ticket was closed the next day.

We are finding that even with marked crosswalks, some drivers still refuse to share the infrastructure. With an intersection of this size, with 90,000 cars/day, we need even MORE than marked crosswalks. Thanks to Cyndonna Tefft for the pic! 72nd & Dodge St.

Enough with “safety campaigns” that try to educate while failing to ENGINEER safe streets.

We don’t need yard signs, media posts, road billboards, et al.

Our officials are failing at the most basic of all their mandates: protecting us from preventable harm.

’s DOT has spent 8 years working to re-design this intersection, based (one would hope) on a action plan & climate action goals.

The resulting design?
Still 🚗 -centered.

👩🏿‍🦽🚸👩🏽‍🦯🚏’s dignity, accessibility & safety?

Still an afterthought.
