Incredible to see #Sudan roll out its first polio vaccination campaign since its conflict started– to deliver nOPV2 to children in the Red Sea State during #WorldImmunizationWeek 2024. This campaign will prevent further spread of the ongoing variant poliovirus outbreak.

Authorities reveal that environmental samples gathered from 31 districts have tested positive thus far, all exhibiting the YB3A poliovirus genetic cluster.
Additionally, the two polio cases reported in 2024 were also genetically linked to this same cluster.
