Couple of points regarding the rumours of a recommended 6.5% payrise from the STRB.

* 6.5% is still SIGNIFICANTLY below inflation
* The government are not tied to following the STRB recommendations and have ignored them in the past
* Any rise MUST be fully funded

Pay offer vote received 19:59 - rejected at 20:00
National Education Union had a detailed presentation on this derisory ‘offer’ explaining why it should be rejected. NASUWT members enjoyed a 2min prerecorded message. Imagine paying subs for that 🤦🏻‍♂️

Kathryn Vaughn True story: Years ago, I had just completed my Master’s Degree over the summer. Teachers were negotiating raises with the school board. I mentioned the school custodian made more money than me. The board president replied, “Well, he works hard.” 😳

I'm a teacher. I'm exhausted. I've spent half term ill with flu, my entire family also caught it. I haven't been well enough to take my kids out or do any planning. In 2 days time I have to teach 30 kids: 4 EAL 11 SEN with no TA.😩 I want to quit.

If you’re a teacher, you earn a “sizable” and “attainable” $15k bonus for exceptional performance.

In Big Tech, you land a $15k bonus for… showing up.

Feels like we’re missing the point with as it relates to
