On International Nurses Day I want to thank all our nursing staff for their incredible work for others day-in, day-out.

I’m also thinking of my grandmother, Olwyn, who achieved her lifetime ambition of becoming a nurse at the age of 56.

She’ll always be an inspiration to me.
