「連雀」の名前は、群れで連なっていることが多いことが由来。
ヒレンジャクとキレンジャクの見分け方は尾の色以外にも、お腹の色や羽の班、目の黒い過眼線の長さなどなど、よくみると結構違うのです。

Bohemian Waxwing in the berry wasteland...the Robins have not been pleased with the slim pickins' 😬🤣 #birdphotography

The starling in my yard did a pitch perfect Killdeer, Wood-Pewee and Cedar Waxwing today. Impressive!

I finally got a photo of a Waxwing albeit a far away, blurry one! I was lucky enough to see waxwings for a second time this month, in Wrexham today. More of them than last time and happily sitting there long enough for me to observe. Made my day.
