Over the last month we have been zooming in weekly to Maclean High School on lovely Yaegl Country to explore some of our FutureStemGen themes. Here, senior Maclean students are examining pigface unripe and ripe fruits to test their antioxidant properties with Betadine. Super fun!
We are looking at natural resources from the land & the sea with Aunty Glenda from Yaegl Country, Sarah & James from South Coast Seaweed & Birdlife Southern NSW. The Plunkett Street School and Jarjum students are super engaged the NationalScienceWeek Indigenous Science Experience.
Delighted to meet Emma Langton, a proud Yaegl woman and the recipient of this year’s Michelle Crowther PSM Excellence in Government Legal Service Award. Congrats Emma! #govsolsweek #auslaw LawSocietyNSW Legal Aid NSW
Check out this 1920 map of Ulgundahi Island Aboriginal Reserve. Located in the Clarence River near Grafton, the reserve was gazetted for Yaegl People in 1904. It was transferred to the Aboriginal Lands Trust in 1974 & is now part of the #LandRights network. #MappyMonday
