My story. In 2004, I headed to northern NSW, along with my research group & husband, to discuss bush medicines research with Aboriginal Elders. As ice-breakers, we showed some science activities. This was the catalyst for us & the Yaegl Elders to create NISEP

Had a gorgeous day at the River of Learning celebration @ Maclean High School on Yaegl Country. Seeing the Elders and school staff again was special, and the student artwork and their reflections of the cultural immersion program made this a very special Reconciliation Week event

Over the last month we have been zooming in weekly to Maclean High School on lovely Yaegl Country to explore some of our FutureStemGen themes. Here, senior Maclean students are examining pigface unripe and ripe fruits to test their antioxidant properties with Betadine. Super fun!

Check out this 1920 map of Ulgundahi Island Aboriginal Reserve. Located in the Clarence River near Grafton, the reserve was gazetted for Yaegl People in 1904. It was transferred to the Aboriginal Lands Trust in 1974 & is now part of the network.
