To celebrate #SlowArtDay on April 13, Gorgas House Museum visitors made bead bracelets and thought about the person who owned a blue bead that was excavated from an outdoor kitchen area and found behind this dwelling before the Civil War.

They created art projects that were on display inside the museum. The Blue Bead Project offered visitors the opportunity to make their own bead bracelet and encouraged them to think about the person who owned a bead found behind this dwelling before the Civil War.

On April 13, Gorgas House Museum hosted The Blue Bead Project for this year's Slow Art Day ! The University of Alabama students in Sharony Andrews Green History classes were inspired by a blue bead (dating back to the antebellum period) that was excavated behind the Gorgas House.
