WCC Road Safety Education and Active Travel It would be lovely to recommend the National Cycle Network through Nuneaton, but it's hard to do when Warwickshire County Council is making it difficult and inaccessible... (more in screenshot)

Happy with that! Two Green councillors and Labour control for Nuneaton and Bedworth. Congratulations to all! Hopefully we can see a change in direction, and a bit more positivity from the the new Council.

Turnout for Nuneaton and Bedworth is just 27.49% - that's appallingly low. #LocalElections2024
A number of people turned away from the polls yesterday due to ID problems. Council suggests less than 50 but it's not yet known how many returned; also unknown is the number not recorded due to not even entering the polling station.

This is Warwickshire County Council's response to their installation of an inaccessible barrier, basically sticking two fingers up to all the concerns raised on accessibility + active travel. Looks like there's a LONG way to go before we see an attitude shift, despite their own policies.
The important job for today is done! Get out and vote - and don't forget your ID! #BikesAtPollingStations #VoterID #LocalElection

Walk Ride Bath BicycleBen Warwickshire County Council Warwickshire County Council Highways There's certainly a problem of councils not being good (enough) at EqIAs, but there _is_ a come back when it comes to barriers. Time-and-again, councils that fail to remove them face court action, which then means they have to. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
