This is Warwickshire County Council's response to their installation of an inaccessible barrier, basically sticking two fingers up to all the concerns raised on accessibility + active travel. Looks like there's a LONG way to go before we see an attitude shift, despite their own policies.

I don't get the love for Nuneaton's library building. It's an uninspired, grey, concrete box. I'd understand reuse being better than rebuild *if* that's practical and efficient vs the lifetime carbon+costs of a new, fit-for-purpose building. But not mainly on aesthetics/architect

Here's a thought - why is it that these barriers just get installed unannounced, but when speed bumps are proposed for a stretch of road it has to go out to consultation? Why aren't access restrictions for off-road active travel afforded the same consideration?

When we will see similar designs arriving in Warwickshire Warwickshire County Council?

I wonder - would those people who are happy to see access restrictions to cycles that permit a 'standard' cycle but maybe nothing larger, be happy to see road restrictions that permit something the size of an old style Mini but restrict (with increasing difficulty) larger cars?
