Conservation methods like producing eco-friendly compost are key to a #climatesmart future. In #Niger , CNFA facilitated the distribution of more than 5,000 50kg bags of natural, cost-efficient fertilizer, supporting resilient & sustainable agricultural growth. #EarthDay2024

CNFA Through the Amalima Loko activity, we have trained nearly 650 youth in Matabeleland North province in technical vocational, financial literacy, and business skills training.

USAID Deputy Mission Director Ramses Gauthier visited Nkayi Secondary School where youth are participating in training in various trades supported by USAID through the Amalima Loko activity implemented by CNFA.

Through Amalima Loko, implemented by CNFA, we improve food and nutrition for more than 82,000 vulnerable households by increasing access to food through community gardens in Tsholotsho, Nkayi, Lupane, Binga, and Hwange districts, Matabeleland North province.

The Amalima Loko activity, implemented by CNFA, promotes village savings and loan groups where members can learn financial literacy skills and access finances to invest in small enterprises.

USAID Deputy Mission Director Ramses Gauthier visited the Amalima Loko-supported Tulisumpule Village Savings & Loan group in Binga district, Mat. North province. He heard about the various enterprises that generate incomes for their households beyond their farming.

2/2: This natural, cost-effective alternative to traditional fertilizer is helping strengthen the resilience of the #cowpea value chain in #Niger by ensuring producers can thrive despite price shocks to imported fertilizers as a result of the war in Ukraine.

1/2: In #Niger , the Feed the Future USAID Yalwa activity joined forces with local #cowpea unions & private sector partners to distribute over 5,000 50-kg bags of affordable, locally produced phosphate-based fertilizer for 2,200 cowpea farmers, including for 1,426 women.

In #Rwanda , the Feed the Future USAID Hinga Wunguke Activity organized a field trip for USAID Rwanda & partner projects to visit #potato seed multipliers & market actors in Nyabihu & Musanze districts with the goal of growing farmer incomes & strengthening the value chain.

To promote the sale of competitive, nutritious produce, the Feed the Future USAID Yidgiri Activity trained 20 welders in #BurkinaFaso on the construction of solar dryers, which will strengthen value chains by making it easier for farmers to move hygienic & healthy food to market.
