Enjoying Camille Ralphs' magnificent first collection, and especially the superb Dr. Dee sequence. This, imagining inside Dee's response to the fateful 'cross matching' of wives commanded by the angels, is sublime.

This book by Camille Ralphs is extraordinary. My favourite kind of poetry, mixing high-low, spiritual-secular, archaic-demotic. And, god, the wordplay 🔥 The notes on the Dee sequence alone worth the price of admission.
