Douglas Murray It's not just opioid drugs, all scheduled drugs doctors are refusing to prescribe.
Pharmacies refuse to fill.
Some people have just had enough and use street drugs.
If you want to stop this madness sign the petition.

Aaron Rupar That's awful.

People who need better pain management or who think pain should be relieved more effectively after trauma or surgery need to regularly send correspondence to congressmen and senators. The more mail they get the more likely they'll take action.

Jake Zuckerman If all drugs were sold like alcohol, then insurance might be useful, but as it is now?
Nope, just a huge scam...
You could sign this petition before it happens to you or someone you know.

DoctorTro We can interpret all of this information to mean many different things...

One being the man on the side walk using unregulated drugs is being unreasonably and unfairly punished for something you take for granted at breakfast time.

You can change that.

Riddick John🩻 Carol Kennon This patently false. 3% of people who receive a script for opioids become sustained users over a 5 year period. Fewer still become ‘addicted’. jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman…

Life Is Art Carrie The rollback of opioids for CPPs was one of the worst violations in medicine. The catastrophic consequences are ongoing. Patients were benefiting from effective treatment and en mass were denied that care.

misunderstanded Ryan Marino, MD People have to hide their coffee habit or get arrested. They suffer the problems illegal drug users face now. Some have a criminal record. They get fired. On and on. No reason for it to be different.

I agree that blaming docs who are sympathetic and want to help but are bound by existing standards isn't right. Penalties are intense. It's the system as a whole not individuals that are the problem.

We need to stop hand wringing over deaths from adulterated drugs and celebrating noneffective policies. We must insist on meaningful intervention. Offering safer medications as an alternative clearly saves lives. Let's stop these unnecessary deaths.
