My quote for The National
“Private healthcare companies poach NHS staff to do the work, barely train any doctors themselves, and seek to make profits for shareholders. What's more, NHS private outsourcing has been linked to avoidable patient deaths. …

We should be working to retain our NHS staff and attract back those who have left. Scrapping services that currently make working in the NHS tolerable seems purposefully designed to kill the NHS.
Now more than ever we must fight for our NHS. #NHSPledge
This probably hasn't had the attention it deserved, but the commitment from Sadiq Khan to move towards the establishment of a publicly-owned bus company in London is noteworthy and welcome. 1/

💪Another candidate backing our #NHSPledge - Helen Clawson, who is running as an independent candidate in the Mid-Cheshire constituency.
💙Have your candidates taken the pledge? Tell them to here: weownit.org.uk/act-now/pledge….
You wait 14 years for a politician who cares about our buses, and then four turn up at once.
Proud to have spent today setting out Labour's plans to take back control of our buses with Simon Lightwood MP, Richard Parker for West Mids Mayor 🌹 & Angela Rayner 🌹.
🚍🚍🚍 'Buses are the backbone of our public transport system, but they just aren't sexy enough to command the attention of the nation's press.'
Steve Rotheram writes on how mayors are blazing a trail for Louise Haigh's bold The Labour Party bus reforms:

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Taking our buses back into public ownership so communities can make the bus network work for them. Works in London! Great that The Labour Party will give other parts of the country the chance to take back their buses!
A very positive step forward from Louise Haigh. In our new Preston Labour manifesto we will explore how we establish a bus company so we do what most councils did until a few decades ago and directly provide bus services to benefit communities.
Private Finance Initiatives have been a rip-off meaning:
❌ Fewer teachers
❌ Fewer nurses
❌ More pollution
This is why it's so important to run public services for people, not profit.
My first appearance in the The Telegraph!
This is a BRILLIANT policy - buses in public control and public ownership, where they belong 👏👏👏
Thank you Louise Haigh from bus passengers across the country
One of the many reasons Louise Haigh is right to be hitting the accelerator on bus franchising.
