iPhone : Its been a really tough year for retail. Whether youre doing your Christmas shopping online or on the high street, please try and support our fantastic small businesses who need a boost right now #SmallBizSatUK

iPhone : There is a lot of suspicion that the decision about which tier an area is in is politically driven. To counter this view, Govt must publish the criteria and data sets they use to inform their decision making. Transparency is crucial if we are to feel we are being treated fairly.

iPhone : People in Newcastle & the North East have made huge sacrifices during the #Covid19 pandemic. Coming out of this second lockdown our case rate is falling. We need reassurance Tier 3 will be extremely short term & plan for mass testing. Ive written to Matt Hancock for answers.

iPhone : “Im so infuriated and cross and really quite sad at... yet more lockdown” says the Guardian’s north of England editor Helen Pidd

She compares Stockport locked down for months to parts of London with higher virus figures in a lower tier

iPhone : Question from a constituent that I'm struggling to answer: how can you end a 4 week lockdown in a worse place in terms of restrictions than before it?

iPhone : Labour Chief Whip and Newcastle East MP Nick Brown has written to Matt Hancock to ask why Newcastle (Covid rate per 100k, 343.8) has been placed in Tier 3, while Havering borough in London (Covid rate per 100k, 366.8) is in Tier 2.

iPhone : Just come off call with Health Minister Helen Whately. NE goes into tier 3 from 2 despite there being a 12% drop in case in NE & 22% drop in North of region last week.Restriction likely to be in place till Jan & no new money to support business. Shambolic!

iPhone : Same goes for the people if Newcastle. We’ve done everything asked of us. This out of touch elitist Government simply has no idea 😡…

iPhone : Aviation workers have had a really tough time during #Covid19. I've supported this cross party letter on behalf of tuiuk employees who are being unfairly treated in being denied furlough.…

iPhone : #Covid19 has had a huge impact on cancer care leading to a backlog in consultations and treatments. Despite cross party calls, a funding boost for vital cancer treatments was not in the #SpendingReview2020. Real danger more lives will be lost without action to #catchupwithcancer

iPhone : I am deeply disappointed Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak that you chose to abandon the UK's 0.7% pledge to aid - when a generation of girls are leaning on that support.

I hope you will think again, find a way to reverse the cuts and protect girls education.

iPhone : Didn’t hear the Chancellor mention the rises in Council Tax earlier?

The forecasts assume “increase council tax rates by up to 5 per cent” … “raising council tax by around £1 .0 bn a year”

He’s not taking responsibility. He’s passing the buck.
