We're pleased to support Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust by hosting a Covid-19 vaccination clinic at Milnthorpe Fire Station tomorrow.
Our crews will also be on hand to share fire safety advice.

Thando Ndlovu had just turned 15 when he died after getting into difficulty in the River Trent in July 2021.
Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service worked with his parents to share his story and raise awareness of the risks of jumping into and swimming in open water.

South Lakes Neighbourhood Policing Team, along with Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service held a series of Junior Citizen days for local primary school children in Ulverston, Windermere and Grange this week.

If you start to struggle in the water:
- Tilt your head back with ears submerged
- Relax, breathe normally
- Move your hands to help you float
- Spread your arms and legs out
- Once your breathing is controlled, call for help or swim to safety

The water may look inviting but, even on a warm day, the water can be cold. Jumping into water can lead to cold water shock which can result in drowning.

Yr 6 pupils from Lindal & Marton, Allithwaite and Flookburgh joined us at Grange Fire Station today for interactive learning through the Junior Citizens programme.
Sessions covered fire, road and water safety, plus online security, delivered by our crews and Cumbria Police.
