I think there's a very, very big gap in Scottish media for a solid, credible, interesting and entertaining platform for current affairs. There are amazing thinkers in Scotland but it's easy for politicians to ignore them. Things have become boring. We need to jazz shit up a bit.

He is precisely right. This is coming up in ScotPol conversations a lot of late - not to be ungracious and mean, but out of recognition of how dearly Scottish politics could do with more thinkers (with proximity or involvement) and more pluralism of thought.
