Everyone at the DMA is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ronnie Campbell. The former miner & MP for Blyth Valley was as solid & dependable as they come and a great friend & supporter of ours, and the Durham Miners' Gala.
Our condolences to Ronnie’s family and friends.
The very best wishes of everyone at the DMA go to Tot Holyoak, who has been celebrating his 100th birthday today.
Tot worked at Wearmouth Colliery from 1938 until 1983. He continues to attend the Durham Miners' Gala - as he has done for about 90 years!
Many happy returns Tot!
