Apologies to the Commissioner, but this have been bugging me. Why couldn't it have been a circulating stage junction - the CYCLOPS variant in my sketch which doesn't have any shared space with pedestrians, fully protects cyclists and doesn't ban traffic movements.

And for contrast, I thought it would be fun to Go Dutch. In this case, the pedestrian islands between the cycle tracks and the main crossings are 3 metres deep and just because there is acres of space I have done two stage crossings for pedestrians on the main arms with 4 metre
