Thank you to our colleagues Metropolitan Police Museum & Crime Museum who allowed us use of a heritage vehicle for such a poignant day for Anti-hate charity 17-24-30 NationalHCAW (1184819). The vehicle attracted interest about the ceremonial event. 🚔

Privileged to take one of our Metropolitan Police Historic Vehicle Collection vehicles (Rover 827) to commemorate 25 years since the horrendous bombing of the Admiral Duncan pub in Soho.
An incredibly moving and poignant evening.
Going back to 1857 our Police Orders are popular items that researchers request. Police Orders were internal newsletters circulated daily to police stations with information to help officers do their jobs, and updates on promotions and retirements. #Archive30 #PopularItem
Our wonderful volunteers have been working on our photographs collection, organising the images by topic, and then housing them in conservation friendly sleeves and boxes. All ready for future researchers! #Archive30 #FutureArchives
We get researchers with a varied range of interests. Our research room and Police Museum are open to members of the public. #ArchivesForAll #Archive30
We've used reproductions of some of our archives to decorate our office and research room. #Archive30 #ArchiveAdvice
The 1880s accounts in our collection provide an interesting insight into the use of coals, candles and lanterns for fuel and lighting in police stations. #Archive30 #BusinessArchives
Just some of our boxes of archives waiting to be catalogued as we make our way through our backlog. #SomethingScary #Archive30
Photographs of the Met's first female officers (1919) show that as a part of their uniform they used the Land Army boots from World War One. #ArchiveSustainability #Archive30

Pre-NHS the Metropolitan Police took care of the health of its officers. This 1938 Police Order shows the appointment of a female surgeon for women officers living in Wandsworth Section House. #Archive30 #HealthArchives
