The Cass Review must be a watershed moment for the NHS’s gender identity services.

My response for The Labour Party underlining our support for the Cass Review’s evidence-led recommendations and our determination to put children’s health and wellbeing above the political fray 👇🏻

A short🧵on the implications of the for research. One extraordinary finding among many: it was not possible to assess long-term outcomes of treatment pathways because NHS gender clinics would not co-operate. 1/7

Fun fact - this was a version of an invited talk given by Skinner at Swansea University in 1985.

The only recording of it is locked away at the BPS headquarters in their video vault. simon dymond, Martyn Quigley and I were in talks with them to break it out of there

REINDEER CYCLONE. Reindeer sometimes circle together in large groups. This is thought to be a defense against predators, making it harder to target any individual and shielding young in the 'eye of the storm.'

Brilliant Yoko Ono retrospective Tate Modern London until 1st Sept. So many outstanding & interactive artworks: chess sets with all pieces white, torn canvas to shake hands through, a wall on which to ‘write your thoughts of your mother’.

Whole cast wonderful in Cabaret Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club (London) this weekend, ’s voice & take on Sally Bowles so striking. Reprises the music, plot & characters from the original musical, in contrast to 1972 film. Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome 🎵. Maybe this time.

Fascinating paper. I can’t find any attempted replications of the Dartmouth Scar Study, given it was published in 1980. The original paper included 3 studies on the effect, so two successful replications.

Most people of course would be glad that Eichmann was captured and put on trial in Israel ישראל 🇮🇱. Not so the United Nations though, which condemned Israel for ‘violating the sovereignty’ of Argentina! United Nations sided with those who hide rather than prosecute Nazis.

Useful voter migration graphic from Electoral Calculus. For every 2 voters/% points Labour has lost to the Greens it has gained 5 from the Tories, 3 from the Lib Dems and 2 from that favourite Corbynite reservoir of potential support, previous non-voters.
