This is good policy, and help support those who are ready to embrace a sober and drug free environment.
I love the commitment to helping those who relapse! 😍

Almost 3 years ago Matt Haney and I worked together to open a peer led drug free recovery site in S.F. - today he is taking it a step further with Salvation Army SF to change state law to allow drug free sites to compete for funding and support - this will be a game changer.

Fentanyl is the most deadly drug we've ever seen. It has changed everything. We desperately and urgently need to get people off of and away from these deadly drugs and invest in treatment and recovery.

We stand with the Masjid al-Tawheed mosque and the entire Muslim community after a terrible hate crime attack on the mosque during the month of Ramadan.

Important initiative from Matt Haney. Sober or drug-free housing isn't the answer for everyone -- some people need stable housing *before* they can start recovery -- but the option certainly shouldn't be barred from funding.

Good day today! As a resident of EssEff and employee of the Sally Army I’m excited about the bill Matt Haney introduced, cosponsored by Salvation Army SF and Bay Area Council that would allow up to 25% of housing first funds to be used for recovery housing.

We want to get more people into substance use treatment. @sf_dph is working with Matt Haney on legislation that will lower barriers for treatment and improve access to methadone.

It is infuriating and mind-boggling that during the worst drug crisis in history, as thousands of Californians die every year, that we would keep one of the most effective treatments for addiction locked away where people can’t access it. We are going to change that.

Right…
