🚨 We first warned govt about these impending enormous costs over 2 years ago.

❌ Unfortunately, the Building Safety Act means that innocent leaseholders are being forced to pay huge sums to put right decades of wrongdoing by the state and industry.

🗓️ Last month 2 members of our team planned to attend the Bellway AGM.

🤔 Funnily enough, Bellway were not keen to see us.

☑️ But we had secured Bellway shares, so we went ahead with our plans.

Find out what happened 👇

Seriously worrying precendent here. 'Decant' residents from social housing blocks for urgent repair work, then change course and sell the blocks to the private sector.

By ‘they’ btw, I mean those with power to make a difference: to pardon postmasters, investigate PO managers, revoke honours etc. Amazing how the endless fobbing off turns into action when it’s the story on the front page of all the nationals. A good system wouldn’t wait for that

Must be an odd feeling for those involved. Good that everyone’s finally listening, but after so many years of pain, that they only cared after an ITV drama? That can’t be easy to process

Looking around at the sudden outbreak of public awareness and political engagement for the post office scandal and wondering if and when this will happen for Grenfell and the building safety crisis

Why are ordinary people, like me, still waiting for them to carry out crucial assessments to find out exactly how dangerous our homes are? Why are less than 25 buildings earmarked for remediation, when they will have a portfolio stretching into the many hundreds needing it?

Why are so many people, their customers, living in unsafe, flammable buildings when another tragedy could strike at any time? Why has a company set aside £583m in funding since 2017, but 82% of it still remains unused?

Almost six & a half years on from Grenfell, this morning, I am in Newcastle to attend the AGM w/ End Our Cladding Scandal. I want to know why one of the UK’s largest house builders is so slow at remediating their legacy buildings, despite a commitment to remediate at ‘pace’.

I dunno, I usually try and avoid saying personal stuff, but it is heartbreaking, and I think its irreversible now. Just staying in the city on a moderate or low income is a struggle which you can only lose. I cannot see it turning around. What sort of city will it become?

I was born in Newham in 1988. I'm watching the only city I've ever called home empty and die. There is so much more wealth and opulence now and so little of it has been captured for the benefit of London's communities, who have been actively displaced. This will now accelerate.

3) Who is going to take responsibility for this torture? The trauma being endured by residents, who are dealing with the constant changes to the remediation schedule is beyond measure at this point. We can't sell, can't move on & can't escape our unsafe building.

So, my questions here are:
1) Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities who is holding these developers accountable? Can they just constantly move the goal posts with no oversight or reprimand?
2) How can we be deemed a priority building, yet we've been waiting over 4 years for remediation?

As of yesterday, 'some' residents receive exactly the same copy & paste template from , but with the key deadline for the inspections moved AGAIN to January 2024. No explanation as to WHY, but this time, they just couldn't be bothered with the official header & footer.

Fast forward to October & notify Mojo Residents, via a long winded letter, that tells residents nothing that they don't already know, that the inspections will now be conducted by the end of November. No explanation as to why...
