What this stirred up for me is the uncomfortable reality that, as hard as science is for everyone, it so much harder for so many in the places where we need science the most. We need more Dr. Asha de Vos's in the world. Our planet is changing too fast to wait.

‘Success in preserving the ocean will come only when we recognize that protecting the world’s largest ecosystem requires the world’s largest team.’ Excited to have been invited to contribute to The New York Times ‘turning points’ series. Read and RT! nytimes.com/2023/12/05/spe…
'Parachute science created... a false perception that a handful can save the whole...we must give everyone an equitable opportunity to engage with, explore and work in the oceans if we want to drive positive, sustainable change.'
So well said Dr. Asha de Vos!
