Standing ovation for Yamina, who ended her talk with this slide from the IPCC SYR, the story of her family, her mother who still lived mostly in a stable climate, herself experiencing the turn, her son facing all the dangers. 💔💔💔
This is my story too.

2030 is now 80 months away.

Each remaining month is 1.25% of the time we have left to reduce global emissions to 45% below to 2010 levels -which the IPCC say is necessary to stay below 1.5C

Currently, we're ~20% above 2010 levels & still headed in the wrong direction 😬

I read this report so you don't have to. ☠️

Loathe as I am to share content from these guys, the report neatly illustrates how fossil fuel interests are seeking to exploit tensions around meat and dairy to stymie climate action.

Do you see the sunlight peeking through the leaves as we look up at the bamboo? 🎍

Bamboo can grow up to 20m high, which is equivalent to over four London double-decker buses! 🚌

Summer is certainly on its way, and some exciting things are on the horizon... 🤫

If there's one point I think people really need to get, it's that we don't live on a planet that just happens to be suitable for life, Earth is the way it is BECAUSE of life. Oxygen and methane in the atmosphere, life! Coal seams and oil fields, life! Cliffs of limestone, life! 1

The biodiversity stripes highlight the global decline in species abundance.

They are already starting conversations about the nature crisis.

Just a reminder that, with the right leadership, climate action can really take off. What an exciting, empowering journey that would be. Imagine ending this paralysis and releasing all the passion of people in the uk where, I’m sure, more unites us than divides us.
