This fascinating map by Andy Arthur 🐣 Threadinburgh 🧵 beautifully illustrates the extensive Glasgow tram network in 1938, with over 1,000 municipally-owned trams connecting communities as distant as Clydebank and Airdrie. Imagine if Glasgow City Council could resurrect even a fraction of this today.

We're pleased to support Community Transport Association's letter to Scottish Government calling for the Plugged-In Communities fund to be extended.
With growing levels of transport poverty and minimal progress on emissions reductions, now is not the time to cut investment in community-led #climate action.
Thanks to the generous support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund Scotland,
Glasgow Life is receiving a £350,000 boost to transform Sauchiehall Street into a vibrant culture and heritage district. Working hand in hand with them, and Glasgow City Council, our goal is to breathe new life into this iconic street.
