Malaz, 14, was told her mother had been killed when she fled the ongoing war in Sudan and sought safety in Chad.

But then the unexpected happened.

🔴Today marks 1 year since the conflict in Sudan🇸🇩 started, pushing more than 700,000 people away from home and into #Chad 🇹🇩. Many Chadian and Sudanese refugee girls can no longer afford to buy sanitary towels. With UNICEF support, they have decided to make their own.
