We’re so proud to have supported Prof Arri Coomarasamy OBE MBChB MD FRCOG FMedSci, Adam Devall and the E-MOTIVE Trial team in developing their Postpartum Haemorrhage clinical trial to rapidly identify and address potentially dangerous post birth bleeding, the biggest cause of maternal deaths worldwide.
Good news: a new trial to manage postpartum bleeding shows highly promising results. This could represent a major breakthrough in reducing maternal deaths. #HealthForAll

Postpartum haemorrhage affects ~24 million women per year and is the leading cause of #maternalmortality worldwide. This study finds that the condition can be identified and treated quicker by using a low-cost drape to measure blood loss and bundling World Health Organization (WHO) recommended treatments.
Thank you for funding the E-MOTIVE Trial Bill Gates Melinda French Gates Gates Foundation and thank you NEJM for fast-tracking our publication.
