Yesterday Ayushman and I published a piece with openDemocracy on the Global Slavery Commission.

Today I got a response from an FOI request which revealed that the UK government is spending 500,000 pounds on the Commission. 1/3

Last year I started some new research with Ayushman looking at the effects of funding streams in shaping how academics and civil society classify and respond to exploitation. The focus here is the financial incentives associated with talking about “modern slavery. 1/7
