Today @columbianjourn unveiled a bust of Ida B Wells, honoring her legacy of courage, truthtelling and integrity. She was a pioneering investigative and data journalist. An inspiration for this and all time.

To cover a story in a place wary of outsiders, Patrick Lohmann moved there. Introduced himself. Attended church. Set up a table at a farmers market. Showed up early at public meetings and stayed until janitors threatened to turn off the lights.
