Some might take exception to the message here, but it raises an important point.

Science, monitoring, and research are all crucial to nature conservation. But without subsequent ACTION, they're virtually pointless.

And all too often, that's *exactly* what happens.

Went to Devils End in Wiltshire today to look at locations where Dr.Who and Daemons was filmed. People were so engaging and heard some great stories about the best Dr. Jon Pertwee. I must return to this place. .

What better way to celebrate than to watch a bunch of baby in the Forest of Dean – where boar are back after centuries of absence – taking it in turns to jump over a puddle?

Next week we are in search of “Devils End” and the 4 Barrows. Just hope we don’t meet “Bok”. Stand by for some lives.

I’m seeing this viral photo popping up all over the place at the moment. It drives me nuts because it’s usually peddled as a green solution that’s beneficial for wildlife.

Firstly, these aren’t “wildflowers”. They’re not even flowers that are native to the UK. There are very few…

But wherever natural regen in allowed develop it can be stunning. This island created by slip road onto motorway here near Limerick city was bare grass 15 or so years ago.....

We all want more trees in the Irish landscape, and THIS is how we should be doing it: letting wild, native trees seed in naturally.

For biodiversity, climate, enhancing our lives, and timber.

Large wild boar (Sus scrofa). I have merged this video with a clip of Zorro the following day for size comparison. As you can see he scent marks the tree at the end which unfortunately covered the camera too!

Ivy is such a vital life-giver in an Irish forest ecosystem, providing all sorts of creatures with places to shelter, hide, + nest, nectar in the autumn + berries in the winter (both times when food is scarce).

Killing this ancient ivy was an act of pure ecological vandalism.

Detailed bird box plans have now been published for this site. 4 Swift bricks and 4 Sparrow Sparrow Terraces. If you think not enough for 43 houses when the calahomes policy is for one per house, then comment on application 24/00358/DRC at planning.dacorum.gov.uk 1/2
