Upon further thought, external validity here is also something to worry about.

Did respondents know they were dealing with AI output, if they were working w/ AI data labelling cp then likely yes, with a population more used to interacting with LLMs. How would public react?

Hope researchers working on voter turnout take a page from this work. Identifying and quantifying burdens of election law changes on impacted populations could help understand the impacts of these laws beyond turnout (a plug for time use surveys there too)

Having computer scientists study the persuasiveness of LLMs -- not great. Red flags for me that study is not high quality:

1. w/in subjects design 👎
2. no hot-button issues w/ priors
3. in real life non-experts don't persuade
