Jonathan Liew I campaign to because women & girls deserve fairness, an equal experience to men in all sports. Grassroots sport like parkrun have the biggest impact on women & girls.

Everyone is welcome to take part in sports in their sex category. Sex matters in sports

Iโ€™ve seen 2 women on Twitter say parkrun is competitive.

And 3 men on Twitter say it is not competitive.

I vote for separate lists for sex-based and gender-based lists or as many lists as necessary to make all runners happy.

Such a superb piece from an absolutely incredible writer.

Jonathan Liew is a national treasure. Other than on, ahem ahem, one issue - but y'know, nobody's perfect.

Jonathan Liew Always think the more awkward moments seem between frames while the ref is racking up. You're so close to one another but they hardly ever interact at all.

Anonymous Orwell neil catley Jonathan Liew Yes I don't see why parkrun can't introduce tags that can be used for filtering. Tag yourself with your gender if you wish, but let the results be categorised by sex with a ranked results opt-out category for those who, for whatever reason don't want to register with their sex. 1

Anonymous Orwell neil catley Jonathan Liew People could even have multiple gender tags if desired, other tags could be introduced, your running club or your home parkrun. But keep F/M sex categories or Female/Open to protect fairness for female runners. Win/win. 2

Max Rushden ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค Jonathan Liew Barry Glendenning just listened to the pod and was interested to hear Jonathanโ€™s points made regarding the success of Team Sky and David Brailsford in the TdF. Does this mean that developments at Old Trafford could include the pitch on a 1 in 8 incline.

Barney Ronay Jonathan Liew Max Rushden ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค Klopp will be remembered as bringing trophies to Liverpool, including the big 2, but only 1 each. And as antogonist to the protagonist Pep. But is that enough? Is he a Premier League great? How should we measure that, in Pep era or after?
