Only 10 days remain to register and submit an abstract for the Dynamic Kinetochore EMBO Workshop in beautiful Oslo! Spaces are filling up. meetings.embo.org/event/21-kinet…
We especially encourage early career scientists (students, postdocs, and PIs) to apply. #EMBOkinetochore2022
Continuing our countdown to the #newyear with your most liked Smart Biology posts of 2021, today at #4 from 5/27, we have 'Mitotic checkpoint proteins leaving the kinetochore... it's almost time to divide!' #biology #education #animation #mitosis
Our paper 'Kinetochore life histories reveal an Aurora B dependent error correction mechanism in anaphase,' is out in Developmental Cell
Thanks to Andrew McAinsh Onur Sen (and Nigel!) for making it happen 🧵 to explain 👇 authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S15…
One of our favorite animations is the runner-up of our 2022 countdown - the #kinetochore . Our interactive #animated #textbooks bring #biology to life through stunning lessons that help students blast through common misconceptions. Request your trial today! smart-biology.com/request-trial/
Kinetochore structure during cell division ..this is #FANTASTIC !!! Looks like some computer strategy game, but exactly this process happens right now in some of our cells 🙂

Excited to share our last work together with Marta de Ruijter-Villani! We show that the fibrous corona, an outer-kinetochore meshwork, autonomously serves as a microtubule-organizing centre contributing to spindle assembly, and it's fundamental in acentrosomal cells like oocytes. (1/2)
Wonderful people and excellent science made the Dynamic Kinetochore Workshop a success! #EMBOkinetochore2022
Thank you to our major sponsor EMBO Events EMBO Press @EMBO!!
Excited to share our latest work on the budding yeast inner kinetochore!
It was great working alongside Ziguo Zhang, Jing Yang, Johannes Schwab, Stephen McLaughlin, Stanislau Yatskevich, Sjors Scheres, and David Barford on this complicated system.

Our work has been published in JCellBiol! We (@JonasRies group at EMBL; Konstanty Cieśliński Duccio Conti Michal Skruzny) obtained a quantitative model of kinetochore organization by determining precise positions and copy numbers of kinetochore proteins. doi.org/10.1083/jcb.20…
Just had a fantastic three days talking about all things kinetochore and spindle with Andrew McAinsh Iva Tolić and Nenad Pavin. The presentations and discussions were brilliant and I'm feeling so inspired to do the next key experiment! Thank you everyone!
🎉Lorenzo’s paper on the apicomplexan kinetochore is out! With new insights into underlooked modes of cell division…
A great collab with Soldati Lab, NicolasDSP and Eelco Tromer
