Work today was fun.

theguardian.com/world/2022/mar…. During the early stages of the COVID-19 lockdown, I was deployed to Ukraine to collaborate with the Ukrainian military. While there, my homebase was the International Peacekeeping and Security Centre which was bombed this weekend by Russian forces.

My Ukrainian-American mom explaining why people underestimated Ukrainian military effectiveness: “If you put two Ukrainians in a room they’ll form three political parties. But if you threaten them they become one family.”

I spent several months during 2020 working in Lviv and Kyiv with men and women in the Ukrainian military. Knowing that a 40-mile-long Russian convoy is snaking it’s way overnight to Kyiv literally gives me chills.

Saddest.

I cancelled my trip to Nova Scotia to see friends and family whom I haven’t been physically close to in two years. It’s a huge, fucking bummer.
