Lovely end to the week here at Rutland Water
On what was an absolutely soaking start to the day, Maya brought us some much needed sunshine by laying her 3rd egg of the year
Spaced out almost exactly 3 days apart,
1st Egg - 30th March
2nd Egg – 2nd April
3rd Egg – 5th April

We suggest you crack on and watch the webcams or, even better, lay everything else aside and hatch a plan to come and see her in person at Lyndon!

This morning, we saw a familiar face, 25(10) intruding on the Manton Bay nest. She has consistently been one of our earliest birds seen in Rutland and consistently drops in at Manton Bay.

Maya has just touched down on the Manton Bay nest! Welcome back! This is the second time she's returned on the 12th which makes this her joint earliest date back.

Our Lyndon Visitor Centre is now open and ready to welcome the #returnoftheospreys

This Mother’s Day we're celebrating Maya. Our most successful breeding female Rutland Water Nature Reserve 37 chicks to date! In Greek Maya means ‘good mother’.
The name was chosen as an identifier as she's unringed, shortening the nest site ‘Ma’ nton B ‘ay’
