Yesterday we were mobilised, alongside Basingstoke Fire Station, to a 🔥 in the open at a residential address in Silchester. This was a grassfire, approx 74m x 50m, which started from a bonfire. Despite the recent rain, the ground is very dry please avoid lighting bonfires. #Heatwave2022

Firefighters from @Hants_Fire and Dorset&Wiltshire FRS are working hard in sweltering conditions to keep a blaze at #Ringwood Forest under control. 🚒

The fire service says it spans roughly five hectares and crews expect to be there for another couple of days.

There is still an ongoing fire at Ringwood Forest which is causing a large smoke plume. This is resulting in a general haze of smoke over the Bournemouth area. Residents are advised to close their windows and doors. #Smoke #Bournemouth #RingwoodForest #Dorset Bournemouth Echo

Crews remain on scene at the fire on Chobham Common, which spread to around 150 acres at its peak. Overnight the cooler temperatures & hard work of fire crews contained the spread, but firefighters are expected to be on scene through the day. Please avoid the area.

⚠️We currently have 10 fire engines, 4 unimogs, 2 water carriers and 10 4x4 vehicles in attendance at the #ChobhamCommon fire. Please continue to avoid the area while crews continue to deal with this large fire and follow Surrey Police for road closure details. ⚠️
