Even though my book is out of my hands (currently printing OUP History!), I can't resist trying to trace people caught in the wartime slave trade. For example: Jane Lyles, captured at Thaddeus Steven's ironworks Confederates in Chambersburg, PA during the Gettysburg Campaign.
