#Top15FaveAlbums #5albums21cFinal so gave Sigur Ros Takk a play just to confirm its place in my fave albums list. Blown away. Sounding better than ever and an absolute unique soundscape. Also my most gorgeously packaged album
Another 2 great albums fighting for a position in my #5albums21cFinal line up, as with Radiohead yesterday, one is hitting the spot a touch more than than the other today .,

Frightened Rabbit - The Midnight Organ Fight
This is in a straight fight with one other to take my no.1 position for #5albums21cFinal
An undisputed masterpiece that just kills me each time I put it on.. nothing like it..
#5albums21cFinal This is one of my favourite ever albums. I love how an album so utterly drenched in melancholy could prove to be so popular. It's over an hour long, and every minute is packed with cinematic songs of love, loss & total despair.
#5albums21cFinal Its release surprised & delighted all Silver Jews fans. The joy was tragically brief. I couldn't listen to it for years after his death. I've played it a lot in the last year or so, & it is a fitting end to an illustrious career. Beautiful, dark & deeply moving.

Radiohead- A Moon Shaped Pool
Seeing them live on this tour was in my top 5 gigs ever. Genius album.
So 70% of the #5albums21cFinal contenders are over 15 years old. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but here's a plea for some great albums from the last ten years - the majority of my final picks will be from these I think...
#5albums21cFINAL @midlakeband Midlake - The Trials Of Van Occupanther (2006) Bought due to the impressive reviews when #5albums06 came around on here. Warm, intimate, melodic, reflective and timeless. This could have come from the mid-70s. Nice find - thanks #nowplaying
#5albums21cFINAL #albumoftheday Fontaines D.C. Fontaines D.C. - Skinny Fia (2022) This album grows in stature with each play. Probably a bit too young to trouble the top 5, but years from now, it could be seen as a latter-day classic. Best track - I Love You #NowPlaying

Today's working from home soundtrack. I really like all 3 of these albums, but I don't think any of them will be close to my top 5. Really enjoyed listening to all 3 all the same

Day 9
Flaming Lips - Yoshimi BTPR
I'm a bit late to the party with this one. Tbh, I only discovered it a few weeks ago during a #5albums SF, but it's been on heavy rotation ever since. My favourite album this month!
